Route 309 reconstruction work begins in McAdoo, Kline Township

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that a project to improve Route 309 in McAdoo and Kline Township, Schuylkill County, has begun.

The project entails full-depth reconstruction of Route 309 between Haddock Road and the Carbon County line. Additional work includes guide rail replacement, drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades, and construction of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant facilities.

Work will be suspended during the winter months, and in spring 2019 work will begin on the full depth reconstruction of Route 309.

Updates will be provided to the public in advance of any traffic pattern changes, and all schedules are weather dependent.

Lehigh Asphalt Paving & Construction Co. of Tamaqua is the general contractor on the $9.5 million project, which is expected to be complete in November 2021.
