McAdoo assaults

McAdoo police released information on two recent assaults, one in a road rage incident and the other in a street fight.

A woman driving through McAdoo on Sept. 6 contacted police after she was accosted on West Blaine Street. The victim said a vehicle pulled out in front of her from a side street, causing her to take evasive action to avoid a crash. When she and the other driver had to stop for a red light, she honked the horn to show her displeasure.

The other driver, David Ritsick, 56, of McAdoo, exited his car, came back to her car and began screaming at her. At one point, he punched the closed window next to her head.

Police made contact with Ritsick within minutes and determined he had been drinking alcohol.

He was charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Police were called to Fegley’s Mini Mart, Kennedy Drive, at 7:55 p.m. on Sept. 13 for a fight that was occurring outside the convenience store. The fight was over when officers arrived, but after reviewing security camera footage from the store the combatants were identified as Daniel Gardner Jr., 18, of McAdoo, and Michael Ciccozzi II, 22, of Kelayres.

They were both charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.
