A man was injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash along Route 443 in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. just west of the intersection with South Ninth street.

The sport utility vehicle came to rest into the guiderails along the south berm.

The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then transported to a local hospital.

Lehighton fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Mahoning Township Chief of Police Audie Mertz assisted by Lehighton police investigated the incident. Mertz added the investigation will continue to determine if the driver may have been impaired.
