‘The Lion King Jr.’

The Palmerton Area Drama Club presents “The Lion King Jr.” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Palmerton Area High School, 3529 Fireline Road, Palmerton.

First UCC

Summer worship will be ending this Sunday when worship returns to the sanctuary. Worship at First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton is at 9 a.m.

Please remember First UCC supports the CACPAC food pantry with food items as well as monetary gifts. Your offerings are greatly appreciated.

Fall vendor and craft fair

A fall vendor, craft fair and Chinese auction will be held at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 359 Main St., Parryville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Third Monday Book Club

Third Monday Book Club discusses a different book each month. The group will meet at the Palmerton Area Library from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday. The book for the month will be “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote. New members are always welcome.

Library board of directors

The Palmerton Area Library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at the library. Meetings are open to the public.

Computer classes

New computer classes will start at the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton in October, both beginning and advanced. Call 610-829-3424 now to get your name on the waiting list.

Calendar lottery

The Palmerton Area Library will be selling calendar lottery tickets for the month of October. Check with any board member or ask at the checkout desk to purchase a ticket for $5. All proceeds go directly to the library.

Spaghetti dinner

An all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Aquashicola Fire Co. The event will benefit Tom Walters, who suffered a life-changing stroke in May.

The dinner includes salad, roll, drink and dessert. There will also be a bake sale, Chinese auction and raffles.

Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton.

Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee and more.

Wing, taco and clam specials are every Wednesday night from 5-8 p.m. Dinner is served every Friday from 4-8 p.m.

Operation warm-a-child

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, is collecting new and gently used coats for infants and children now through Oct. 1.

Drop-off locations are at the main entrance of Country Junction on Route 209 and the church at 545 Church Road.
