Three defendants in driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Thursday. President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas from the following:
Jesse Glenn Harrell III
, 29, of Saylorsburg, was arrested on Jan. 31 along Covered Bridge Road in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. He refused a test. He pleaded to driving under suspension, DUI related. The DUI count was dropped in a plea agreement with the district attorney’s office.
Nanovic sentenced him to serve 90 days in jail, a fine of $1,000 and court costs of $1,000.
He will begin serving the prison term at 9 a.m. on Sept. 10.
Ryan Robert Montgomery
, 42, of White Haven, was arrested on Aug. 31, 2017, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. He was charged with DUI of a controlled substance. He refused to submit to testing.
He also pleaded to driving under suspension, DUI related.
Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation. He is currently an inmate in the county prison on other charges.
