A Philadelphia woman entered guilty pleas to theft counts in four cases.

She was one of five defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea in Carbon County court before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

In all the cases, the victim was the Walmart store with Mahoning Township police making the arrests.

Conspiracy counts

Ana Vidal

, 34, pleaded to four counts of criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft. The thefts occurred on May 14, 15, 20 and 28, 2017. There is a co-defendant in the case. All the counts are rated felony 3.

Matika told Vidal she faces a prison term at the time of sentencing.

Sentencing was deferred and the adult probation office was ordered to prepare a presentence investigation report.

Other pleas

George Thomas Rohrbach,

51, of Pottsville, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy — retail theft.

He was arrested on May 8. There is a co-defendant in the case who stole the merchandise. Rohrbach was driving the vehicle used in the incident.

Rohrbach is currently an inmate in the Berks County prison in Reading on other charges.

Matika deferred sentencing and ordered a presentence investigation report.

Brenda Dorothy Fritzinger

, 47, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy — retail theft.

She was arrested on May 30. There is a co-defendant in the case.

Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $95.22 (half-share of the total due) and stay out of the store.

Nicholas Sterling

, 28, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of retail theft.

He was arrested on April 18.

Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service and to stay out of the store. No restitution was ordered as the stolen merchandise was recovered.

Jannette Lewis

, 52, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of theft of property lost or mislaid.

She was charged for an incident on Dec. 6, 2017, at the store where a female victim misplaced her wallet, which was found by Lewis, who made no attempt to return it.

Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $260 to the victim and have no contact with the victim.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee.
