Kutztown University field hockey head coach Marci Scheuing recently announced her coaching staff for the upcoming 2018 season. Morgan Firestine has been promoted to the program’s top assistant, and Corrine McConville joins the team as KU’s newest assistant.

McConville joins Kutztown as an as assistant coach in 2018. She is coming off her lone season as head coach at her alma-mater, Lehighton Area High School, who went 13-6 last year and advanced to the District 11 title game.

As a player, McConville was a member of the undefeated 2009 state championship team at Lehighton and went on to play four years at Division I Albany. She was a two-time All-American at Albany, a four-time all-region and three-time all-conference player.

A defender, McConville was one of Albany’s top offensive options from 2010-13. She graduated as the program’s leader in penalty strokes made and attempted (16-17), minutes played (5,816) and games played (84). She started 84 consecutive games in her career, the most of any player all-time, and ranks second in Division I program history and tied for third in career points with 101.

She went on to play for the U.S. National Indoor Team on the national and international stage.

“We are lucky to have a coach with Corrine’s resume join our staff,” Scheuing said. “She has played at the highest levels in the country and internationally. She will be a great asset to our coaching staff and will help us raise our program to the national level.”
