St. Luke’s offers diabetes support

St. Luke’s University Health Network hosts diabetes support groups at its new facility in Lehighton and at St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.

The groups are designed to help patients dealing with diabetes, as well as family and friends.

Participants will learn about the causes and effects of the disease; ideas to increase self-help, problem solving and prevention measures; and provide encouragement.

The next group meeting will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21, in the community room at St. Luke’s Miners in Coaldale.

The next session in Lehighton will be on Oct. 10. It will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lehighton Medical Center, 575 S. Ninth St.

Registration is not required, but anyone planning to attend may wish to call 570-645-8107 for more information or to confirm the meetings.
