FBI offers $10,000 reward for information leading to Shawn Christy’s arrest

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a Schuylkill County man wanted for threatening to harm President Donald Trump, and law enforcement officers.

Fugitive Shawn Christy, 27, of McAdoo, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 10 for the threats. Christy, who may now be clean-shaven, is considered armed and dangerous.

According to United States Attorney David J. Freed, the indictment alleges that Christy posted the threats on Facebook between June 3 and 12. It is alleged that Christy posted that he was going to shoot President Donald Trump in the head, and that he was going to use “lethal force” on any law enforcement officer that attempts to detain him as a result of a bench warrant that was issued for him. The indictment alleges that Christy also threatened to injure another person by posting “Your a dead man … Lets play.”

The threat to Trump is being investigated by the United States Secret Service, and the other threats are being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The maximum penalty under federal law for each offense is five years imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine

The FBI is asking the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Christy, who may be in possession of several stolen handguns.

Anyone with information on Christy’s location is asked to contact the FBI immediately at 215-418-4000.
