Two defendants who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence charges were sentenced on Friday in Carbon County court.
Judge Steven R. Serfass imposes sentences on:
David A. Shiffertt Jr.
, 29, of Coaldale, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service.
He was arrested on June 16, 2016, by Lehighton police for DUI of a controlled substance.
He was given credit for three days already spent in jail on the charge and paroled.
Jason Cory Wisor
, 33, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.
He was arrested on May 26, 2017, along Route 443 by Lehighton police. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.
He was given credit for one day spent in jail on the charge. He began the jail term at 3 p.m. July 6 and served two days and July 13 at 3 p.m. will begin to serve the remaining two days.
Both defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.
