June 13, 2006 — Kory Bates clubs a homer to help Lehighton gain an 11-3 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Coplay. Bates, who finishes the game with two hits, opens the scoring with his two-run blast to right in the bottom of the first inning. The winners, coached by George Zellers, use a six-run second frame to take control. The big hits in the frame include a triple from Tony Taptich and a double by Chase Brown. Dave Blasko and Brown each finish with two hits, while Brown goes the distance on the mound to earn the win.
