Officials at the Carbon County Correctional Facility recognized one of their own Friday. Shirley Kirchdoerfer, center, who has served as a correctional officer at the prison for 28 years, is retiring. She was awarded a plaque for her years of service by Warden Timothy Fritz and Mary Fairchild, administrative assistant, and celebrated by her co-workers during a brief celebration on her last day.
