Here’s a summer read you’ll want to check out

Looking for something fun to read while relaxing on the beach this summer? Need something to help you laugh during the summer heat?

Well, grab your sunscreen, beach chair, favorite beverage and “Miss Julia Weathers the Storm” by Ann B. Ross and head to the beach!

Ross has written 18 previous novels in the “Miss Julia” series, each one with great adventure, mystery and humor.

“Miss Julia Weathers the Storm” is the 19th book in the series and has folks falling out of their chairs with laughter. Although reading a series of books in order is always preferred Ms. Ross has stated that any one of the “Miss Julia” novels can be read as a stand-alone novel, but you will want to read the rest of the series once you finish one of them.

Other titles in the series include “Miss Julia Inherits a Mess,” “Miss Julia Lays Down the Law,” “Miss Julia Rocks the Cradle,” “Miss Julia Delivers the Goods” and “Miss Julia Meets Her Match,” just to name a few. Any one of the titles in this series would be a perfect addition to your beach bag.

In “Miss Julia Weathers the Storm,” Julia and her sweet, generous husband Sam plan a two-week beach vacation, but not just for Sam and Julia, no he wants to include family and friends, enough folks to fill a large oceanfront rental house.

The catch, it is August, an active hurricane month for the Carolinas. However, they pack their bags and head to the beautiful coastline. With friends and family in tow, the trip is going to be full of fun, relaxation and togetherness … or not.

Among the guests at the house was Latisha, the 6-year-old great-granddaughter to their beloved housekeeper Lillian.

Latisha heads out to the beach in search of seashells, she finds much more than just shells, as it turns out there is a storm churning out at sea, and that is sending all sorts of treasure ashore.

But there are others around who want those treasures and will stop at nothing to get them from the little girl and her family and friends.

The hurricane is headed for the coast and the group must pack up and leave the rental house for their safety.

The story doesn’t end there, once home the group isn’t safe, the treasure hunters have followed them. The mystery and hysteria continues.
