Palmerton High School senior Sadie Heiney will continue her academic and softball careers at Penn State Hazleton.

Heiney was a three-year member of the Bombers varsity softball team, playing second base.

Heiney had a .300 career batting average and earned a silver medal when Palmerton finished as the District 11 Class 2A runner-up in 2016.

In addition to playing softball, Heiney was a manager for the Palmerton basketball team and was also a FBLA member.

The daughter of Amy Billman and Brandon Heiney, Sadie plans to major in criminal justice.
