Kunkletown man, 4 others face drug charges

A Kunkletown man is among five people facing drug charges following a traffic stop that took place in January in Monroe County.

Marc A. Anthony, 32, of Orchard Drive, was arraigned on felony drug charges earlier this month, according to a news release from Pocono Mountain Regional Police. He is currently being held at Monroe County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail.

Anthony was one of five people inside a vehicle that was stopped on Route 940 the afternoon of Jan. 17.

He and two other people in the vehicle, Jennifer Kwasnica, 33, of Bartonsville, and Trevor Demarinis, 32, of New Jersey, were wanted on warrants, and were arrested. Police impounded the vehicle because the other two occupants, Jade Cullen, 30, of Sciota, and William A. Foster, 33, of East Stroudsburg did not have a valid license.

A search turned up a stolen handgun and 150-175 bags of heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Police learned that Foster had traded the gun for heroin.

All five occupants are facing felony charges. Foster also faces weapons charges.

Preliminary hearings have been scheduled for June 6 before Magisterial District Judge Danielle Travagline.
