Nesquehoning woman charged with possession

A Nesquehoning woman was charged for drugs after she walked into Turkey Hill to report that her boyfriend was filling their home with gas.

According to Nesquehoning police, at 9:55 a.m. on March 4, police were called to Turkey Hill for a woman, later identified as Heather L. Ruff, 43, of East Catawissa Street, who wanted to file a report about her boyfriend.

When officers spoke with Ruff, who was only wearing pants and a bathrobe at the store, even though it was a very cold day, they noticed she could not stand still or stop talking and showed signs of methamphetamine abuse.

Ruff denied using drugs at first, but later admitted to using meth.

She produced a prescription pill bottle with meth inside, but said it was not her meth but she was just carrying it with her.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she tested positive for drugs. Her claim of her boyfriend filling the home with gas was unfounded.

Ruff was charged with possessing a controlled substance.
