North Carbon seniors take the lead

With three days of competition in the books, North Carbon County has jumped into the lead in the 2018 Senior Games with a combined score of 266; but South Carbon County is continuing the fight with a combined team score of 249.

Who will be left standing when all the dust settles from the two weeks of competition? We’ll have to wait and see.

Thursday’s events included billiards.

Individual billiards results are:

• Men age 60 to 64: Steve Okula, Jim Thorpe, gold; Robert Benek, Panther Valley, silver; Dave Getz, Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• Men age 65 to 69: George Matthews, Panther Valley, gold; Jim Ketchledge, Lehighton, silver; Emil Laputka, Weatherly, bronze.
