Fire companies from Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning and the Bureau of Forestry respond to a brush fire Friday afternoon near the intersection of West Fourth and Oak streets in Jim Thorpe. Firefighters were hampered battling the fire due to a steep terrain and heavy brush. Fire crews managed to lay lines into the fire scene helping to extinguish the blaze.
