We have a winner in the annual Lehigh Valley Press Focus section “Readers Pick the Oscar Winners” contest.

Michael Nonnemacher of Allentown correctly chose all seven recipients in the Focus section contest categories: Actor: Gary Oldman, “Darkest Hour”; Actress: Frances McDormand, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”; Supporting Actor: Sam Rockwell, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”; Supporting Actress: Allison Janney, “I, Tonya”; Director: Guillermo del Toro, “The Shape of Water”; Picture: “The Shape of Water,” and Animated Feature: “Coco.”

Nonnemacher will receive The Press prize package, as well as a $50 Penn’s Peak gift certificate, and Roxy Theatre movie tickets.

Nonnemacher was not the only one among the dozens of entries in The Press contest to choose all of the recipients, but his entry was received the earliest, Feb. 20.

Also correctly picking the seven recipients was John Miga of Hellertown, whose entry was received Feb. 26, and Brian McElwain of Whitehall, whose entry was received March 1. Contest deadline was 5 p.m. March 2.

Several entrants picked all but one of Oscar recipients in contest categories. Anna Gilgoff of New Tripoli picked all but one, that of actor. Michele Erle of Macungie picked all but one, that of picture. Elizabeth Nemeth of Coplay picked all but one, that of picture.

Among those who picked all but two Oscar recipients in the contest: Janet D. Sigley of Bethlehem, Gail Miga Mosko of Hellertown, Kathy Gutierrez of Allentown, Robin Boscoe of Allentown, Laurie Wallace Theisen of Allentown, Kelly Meixsell of Nazareth, Cliff Herring of Whitehall, Tom Olson of Macungie, Karen Drake of Whitehall, Susan Rose of Bethlehem, Kelly Davis of Whitehall, Wendy McElwain of Whitehall, Marco LaPudula of Bethlehem, and Kitty Pherson.

Several more picked all but three Oscar recipients, including myself. I picked four of the Oscar recipients in the contest: Picture, Actor, Supporting Actress and Animated Film.
