McCall, Bodnar to head Yudichak’s campaign in Carbon

The campaign committee of State Senator John T. Yudichak, D-Carbon/Luzerne, has announced Emmett P. McCall, Lansford, and Joseph Bodnar Jr., Tresckow, will chair election activities in Carbon County for the committee.

As co-chairmen of the Carbon County part of the committee, McCall and Bodnar will be the key contact people for a variety of election activities, including petitions, fundraisers and appearances by Yudichak at county events and club meetings.

A Democrat, Yudichak recently announced his bid for re-election to the district that encompasses all of Carbon County and 36 municipalities in his home county of Luzerne. He was elected to the position on Nov. 2, 2010, and is currently completing his eighth year in the Senate. Previously, he served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1999-2010, representing the 119th Legislative District.

Both McCall and Bodnar are members of the Carbon County Democratic Executive Committee.

McCall is the Carbon County Recorder of Deeds, having been elected to the position in 1999. He is currently serving his 19th year in office, having won re-election four times.

McCall, a lifelong resident of Lansford, is the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Sniscak) McCall and the father of five sons, Emmett Jr., Michael, Patrick (and his wife, Ginny), Terry and the late Connell, who died Nov. 30, 2006.

He has served in many capacities in Democratic campaigns for many decades, including having served as committee and campaign chairman for former state Rep. Keith McCall.

Bodnar and his wife of 38 years, Paula, are the parents of two children, Joseph, a financial analyst, and Kayleen, a teacher, both of the Philadelphia area. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a supervisor and currently serves as an auditor for Banks Township and as the northern district area chairman for the Democratic Party of Carbon County.
