A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured Sunday.

State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred at 2:48 a.m. along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Francisco Casariego, 60, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet northbound when he struck a pedestrian, identified as Ryan L. Pasanen, 38, of Saylorsburg, in the right lane.

Pasanen was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, with severe injuries, troopers said. Casariego sustained minor injuries.
