Smith & Myers perform Wednesday in Stroudsburg

Smith & Myers, featuring Brent Smith, frontman for Shinedown, and Zach Myers, the band’s guitarist, will be performing in concert at the Sherman Theater at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The theater is located at 524 Main St. in Stroudsburg.

Smith & Myers is an acoustic side project by the pair, that was born when the Florida band’s marketing representative at Atlantic Records suggested the band hold a contest online where fans would submit songs they’d like to hear the band cover acoustically.

They received a huge response, eventually whittling down the submissions to an initial six, with four more to be revealed at a later date.

Accompanied by YouTube videos of the two musicians performing each song, the (Acoustic Sessions) EP was released in early 2014 under the name Smith & Myers.

Some of the songs included in the project are the Clash’s “London Calling,” Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” and Soul Asylum’s “Runaway Train.”

Special guests for this performance will be JR Moore and Zack Mack.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online through shermantheater.com and ticketfly.com, and at the Sherman Theater box office at 570-420-2808.
