Santa is cleared for a landing

The West End Food Pantry is once again clearing the runway for Santa to drop in to visit people in the West End.

On Saturday, Santa and a few of his friends will be arriving in style by helicopter at the Polk Township Firehouse in Kresgeville.

“This was a great success last year,” said WEFP director, Karena Thek. “This year we are hoping for an even bigger turn out.

“There will be Christmas music and karaoke. Hot dogs, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies as well.”

The event is free. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras for photographs with Santa.

The festivities begin at 1 p.m.

Thek thanked the volunteers who work tirelessly to make the 2-year-old pantry such a success.

“Our volunteers and our donors, are the life’s blood of this pantry,” Thek said. “And I really want to give a special shout out to John Kerrick of Hi-Tech Helicopters Inc. Without John this would be just another Christmas event. John’s generosity makes this visit from Santa so much more exciting.”
