The Mahanoy Area Historical Society will present its 2018 Christmas tour on Dec. 9.

Billed as “A European Journey,” tours will be held at 3:15 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The tours will begin at the historical society headquarters at the Rhoades Downtown Center in Mahanoy City.

Participants will board a passenger bus and travel to the Grier City School, a former elementary school that’s been restored and repurposed as an art studio and Air B&B.

After visiting the school, participants will ride through Locust Valley to Hillside Manor, a Tudor-inspired home whose owners built with inspiration from English and Swiss architecture.
