Lehighton middle school presents ‘Cinderella’

Lehighton Area Middle School Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at 7:15 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Lehighton Area Middle School Auditorium.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. Reserved seating is available at https://lams.booktix.com.

General seating will be available for purchase at the door.

First seen as a television spectacular in 1957, and remade for television in 1965 and 1997, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” spins its own version of the traditional story, woven through with beloved songs such as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Impossible.”

With the script and score adapted for elementary and middle school performers, this classic seems as fresh as today.

After all, even if we know the story by heart, we still hold our breath until we are sure that the slipper fits.

This production features eighth-graders Megan Aaron as Cinderella, Aaron Miller as the Prince, Jadien Muffley as the Stepmother, Benjamin Zacharias as the King and Nicholas Hrusovsky as the Herald; and seventh-graders Sophia Wentz as the stepsister, Joy; Anna Laible as the stepsister, Portia; Gabriella DiDea as the Godmother; and Jaclyn Troutman as the Queen.

The cast also includes: Connor McClure, Leilani McClure, Sydney Miller, Kate Halenar, Layla Bravo, Julian Arzuaga, Rachael Carr, Katelynn Markell, Kaitlyn Danner, Marlena Ahner, Edie Cordes, Shayla Cotterman, Sophia Foreaker, Jarred Moyer, Allison Foeller, Brenna Hunt, Abigail Christman, Elizabeth Buffington, Callie Hayman, Logan Kester and Shelby Heater.
