A Tamaqua woman was placed in the Carbon County Prison on Nov. 2 after Tamaqua Police executed an arrest warrant during a traffic stop.

Christina Fletcher, 40, was a passenger in a vehicle that caught the attention of Tamaqua officers on patrol on Nov. 2. While monitoring traffic in the 500 block of North Railroad Street, the officer stopped a vehicle that had a headlight that wasn’t lit. Fletcher was in the front passenger seat.

The officer was aware of outstanding warrants for Fletcher’s arrest — one by Tamaqua Police in a case involving simple assault and harassment; the other by Summit Hill on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and defiant trespass.

A second passenger in the car, Joseph Vidzicki, 31, of Tamaqua, also had a warrant, which was filed by adult probation. Vidzicki was taken directly to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.

Fletcher was arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer on the assault and harassment charges.

When Bayer released her on her own recognizance, she was transported to Carbon County for arraignment on the Summit Hill charges.

Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek set bail at $500 straight cash, which she was unable to post.
