A Schuylkill County judge dissolved a bench warrant against a Weissport man, and reinstated bail.

Jason Ensel

, 32, then of Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township police with having a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on April 26, 2015.

Police took Ensel into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant from Carbon County around noon April 26, 2015.

They discovered he had three syringes, a small amount of marijuana and two smoking pipes.

They lodged Ensel, who had been a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for traffic violations, in Carbon County prison.

The bench warrant was issued on April 14, 2016, after Ensel failed to appear for a conference in Schuylkill County court.

Judge James P. Goodman on Oct. 5 dissolved the beach warrant, and reinstated bail at $5,000 unsecured.

He ordered Ensel to continue to live at 220 White St., Apt. 1, and not move from there without notifying the court in writing.

He also ordered Ensel to pay $179 for the cost of the warrant, and advised him to apply for a public defender.

Joseph Stalgaitis

, 39, of New Ringgold, was charged by Tamaqua police with having a controlled substance he was not authorized to have, and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 22.

Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against Stalgaitis, and ordered him to continue to live at 80 Pine Hill Road, and not move from there without notifying the court in writing.

Goodman also ordered him to pay $179 for the cost of the warrant, and advised him to apply for a public defender.

Thomas J. Gaughan Sr.

, 55, of Stroudsburg, was charged by McAdoo police with theft and receiving stolen property on April 1, 2016.

Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against Gaughan, and ordered him to be released to the Adult Probation department for evaluation to see whether he is eligible for inpatient treatment at the veterans’ hospital in Wilkes-Barre.

Upon completion of treatment, Gaughan may either live at the hospital or at St. Francis of Assisi.

Gaughan was ordered to pay $156 to offset the cost of the bench warrant.

Morgan L. DelVillaggio,

20, of Summit Hill, was charged by Coaldale police with having a controlled substance he was not authorized to have, and possession of drug paraphernalia on Oct. 19, 2016.

Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against DelVillaggio, and ordered him to continue to live at 128 W. White St., and not move from there without notifying the court in writing.

Goodman also ordered him to pay $185 for the cost of the warrant, and ordered him subject to supervised bail under the Adult Probation department, and subject to random drug screens.

Goodman also ordered DelVillaggio to meet with the district attorney’s office to resolve his case.

Denise E. Latham

, 35, of Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua police with possession of drug paraphernalia on June 5.

The bench warrant was issued on Sept. 18 after she failed to show up for a court hearing.

Goodman ordered Latham to continue to live at 401 Pine St., Apt. 1, and to pay $185 to offset the cost of the bench warrant. He also advised her to apply for a public defender and ordered her to be fingerprinted.

Revocation

Angelo V. Maldonado

, 28, of Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township police with having a controlled substance he was not authorized to have, and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 21, 2013.

He pleaded guilty on Dec. 30, 2014, and was sentenced by Judge James P. Goodman to six days to 12 months in jail on the drug charge, and to 12 months probation on the paraphernalia charge.

After violating the terms of parole, Goodman revoked it and sentenced Maldonado to serve out the 12 months probation. He was given no credit for the 181 days he spent on parole. He can apply again on Dec. 1.
