Planned development in Polk Township gets go-ahead

The Woods, a planned development located off Haney Road in Polk Township has gotten the go-ahead in Phase I with a few minor conditions.

“The first phase consists of 12 lots,” said Chris McDermott, of Reilly Associates, the engineer on the project. “As you can see the road off Haney Road is already graded in, the retention basin is in and there is a stone area where the buses will come off the main road. That area will be improved over time with paved handicap parking as well.”

McDermott asked that the township approve the plans, noting the conditions that still needed to be worked out. Polk Township Engineer Russell Kresge Jr. was particularly concerned with elevations that were in his observation “clearly inaccurate” on the drawing submitted by McDermott.

McDermott acknowledged that changes had been made and agreed to revise the drawings to reflect the changes. In addition, the developer agreed to submit a bond in the amount of $441,237.

The supervisors also approved the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restriction for the development with minor conditions related to the conservation easement permit and other clarifications.
