Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time 10:15-10:45 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Evening worship, 7 p.m., fellowship hall, In Celebration of Five Centuries of Truth, devoted to an examination of the central truth of the Reformation, justification by faith. Community welcome.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. At Blocker’s residence

Wednesday: Revelation Bible study, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

• Kids Club will begin Oct. 2. Check website for registration or call church office.

• Fall Rally Day and Harvest Home Sunday, 10:45 a.m. Oct. 8. Pastor Marlin Lafferty will be guest speaker.

Trinity happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion is at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free communion wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows..

“Blessing of the Animals” in the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Enter Center Alley from Iron Street. Please have your pets leashed or crated for this event and be prepared to clean up after your pet.

First Tuesday quiet communion is at 10 a.m. Oct. 3.

Schedules for youth groups have been announced, led by Vicar Rich Bergen. “Breaking Bread” Youth Group for students in grades 7-12 will gather from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 8 and 15 in the youth room. There will be supper, Bible study and information on upcoming activities. Thunder and Lightning youth group for students in grades 4-6 will gather from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the youth room with a similar format.

Lehighton CROP Walk at the Lehigh Canal Park, Weissport, is Oct. 8. Registration is at 1 p.m., the walk starts at 2 p.m. The course is 1-4 miles. Contact coordinator Shirley Radler at Trinity Lutheran Church office at 610-377-4303 for pledge forms. Money received benefits Trinity Food Pantry (25 percent), and Church World Services (75 percent) for relief and development programs. Checks are made out to “CWS/CROP.” www.cropwalkonline.org. This is open to anyone including family, friends, co-workers and your dogs.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, Pastor Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Oct. 15. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, Pastor Moore will provide information at 1 p.m. Oct. 22. Please contact the church office in advance to register.
