Carbon County court - DUI

Three people in pending drunken driving cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday to driving under the influence charges.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:Caleb John Kitts, 21, of Blakeslee, was arrested on March 19 along Route 940 by Kidder Township police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension, render 25 hours of community service, pay court cost of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. Sept. 3.Anthony N. Colosi,30, of Pocono Lake, was arrested on Feb. 29 along Route 903 by Kidder Township police. A test revealed a 0.13 BAC.Lindsey Leigh Hallman, 30, of Eagleville, Montgomery County, was arrested on Sept. 20, 2016, by Kidder Township police along Route 534. A test showed 0.17 BAC.Sentencing was deferred for Colosi and Hallman so they can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluations.ARD placementJacquelyn Rose Judson, 24, of Scranton, was placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders on a DUI charge.She was arrested on May 14 along Route 903 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and follow any recommendations of her drug and alcohol evaluation.
