Tour bus becomes stuck on steep hill

Traffic was reduced to one lane on Catawissa street in Nesquehoning after a tour bus became disabled. The incident began just after 9 a.m. when the bus from New Jersey carrying a group for a white-water rafting trip missed its turn onto Route 93. The driver entered the borough and attempted to make a left turn onto Pine Street, a steep hill. In doing so, the rear wheels left the ground, leaving the bus without traction. A large wrecker from Zenier towing was used to free the bus. Nesquehoning firefighters assisted at the scene. COPYRIGHT LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
