Lehighton man pleads guilty in 5 cases

A Lehighton man entered guilty pleas last Friday in Carbon County court in five pending criminal cases.

John Phillip Ockenhouse Jr. 28, appeared before Judge Joseph J. Matika to enter the pleas.Ockenhouse pleaded to three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of simple assault and unlawful dissemination of intimate images. He is currently an inmate in the county prison.The unlawful dissemination of intimate images occurred on Oct. 24, 2016, when he put nude pictures of his estranged girlfriend on Facebook.The girlfriend is also the victim in the simple assault incident which occurred on Oct. 8, 2016, along Kline Avenue in Lansford. Two of the three drug counts occurred on Aug. 15, 2016, and Oct. 15, 2016, in Lansford. The final drug count occurred on Oct. 15, 2016, in the parking lot of Dunkin' Donuts in Lehighton.On the assault count Matika sentenced him to time-served (65 days) to one year in jail; on the unlawful dissemination count, he was sentenced to one year probation consecutive to the assault count; on the three drug charges, one year probation on each, concurrent with each other but consecutive to the assault charge.He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, have no contact with the victim, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while parole and probation and render a total of 125 hours of community service.
