A Monroe County man is facing charges after an alleged assault at a home in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said Kevin Strickland, 26, of Stroudsburg, punched a woman in the face and choked her on the afternoon of May 6.The woman sustained a deep cut above her eye as well as a black eye and large contusion on her cheek, according to police.Police said the woman came into the state police barracks at Fern Ridge around 11 p.m. on the night of the alleged attack. She said that she waited about eight hours to report the incident because Strickland did not leave her home until that time.She was treated at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.Strickland was arrested the next day and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.He has been charged with aggravated assault, a felony, simple assault, strangulation and harassment.On May 19, Judge Colleen Mancuso determined that there was enough evidence for the case to proceed to court.Strickland is currently in jail awaiting a formal arraignment.
