Joseph A. Heery of Mahoning Township has been recognized for his exceptional academic performance by being named to the dean's list for the fall 2016 semester at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.

A freshman majoring in international business, with a minor in theology, Heery is also a member of the Lynn University Fighting Knights baseball team.He is a 2016 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.He is a son of Christopher and Gretchen Heery of Mahoning Township. He has three brothers, Ryan, Sean and Stephen.Paternal grandparents are Francis and Catherine Heery of Mahoning Township. Maternal grandparents are Harry and Lynne Miller of Blakeslee.
