The Carbon County Art League will hold it's free 36th Annual Art Show and Sale in the Osprey House at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, 8844 Paint Mill Road, Slatington, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The public is invited to see the many beautiful works of local artists and to meet some of them in person.Guests will be able to vote on their favorite piece for "The People's Choice Award."An artist reception will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at which time prizes will be awarded.Many of the works being displayed will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting both the art league and the nature center.Visitors will also have a chance to win one of four art pieces: "Jewel Box" by Dave McGeehan, acrylic painting "In Full Bloom" by Wayne Yurchak, oil painting "Venetian Balcony" by Mary Anne Shafer and a photo of Nubble Lighthouse by Jim Denicola. Framing of the oil painting and photo was donated by Creative Framing by Carla of Palmerton.Information on becoming a member of the art league will be available at the show.
