Carbon County court - drug cases

Four defendants in drug-related cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted pleas from the following:Nicole Renne Raposo, 32, of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on Sept. 9, 2016, at 201 W. Ridge St., when Nesquehoning police served a search warrant at the residence. Cocaine and marijuana were found. This is a co-defendant in the case. She was originally charged with 11 drug-related counts.Sentencing was deferred.Debbie Rodriguez-Nieves, 26, of Bensalem, Bucks County, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on Aug. 7, 2016, at the Carbon County Correctional Facility by Nesquehoning police. She was brought to the prison on a warrant and while being admitted, drugs were found on her person.Matika placed her on probation for a year on each count, running concurrently, and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.Matthew Craig Kirton, 39, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested on July 22, 2015, along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Mahoning Township police in the area of the Tractor Supply. He was previously placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.Jennifer A. Impaglia, 31, of Luzerne, Luzerne County, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested on July 21, 2016, by Kidder Township police along Route 534 at the Holiday Pocono development in Albrightsville following a vehicle stop. She was a passenger in the vehicle and found to have Suboxone in her possession.She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 50 hours of community service.She is currently in the county prison on the charge and will be released.The three sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
