State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened at 6:39 a.m. Thursdayat the intersection of Silfies and Correll roads in Eldred Township.

Police said a 1995 Subaru Legacy was southbound on Correll Road and traveling down a hill near Silfies Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It struck a tree head-on on the right side of the roadway and the driver left the scene.
