Carbon County court - Guilty pleas

A woman pleaded guilty this week to illegally possessing a firearm and drugs during a traffic stop in Lower Towamensing Township.

30-year-oldAngeliese Marie Bielingtold President Judge Roger Nanovic that the traffic stop, which occurred Jan. 3, 2015, saved her life from a destructive spiral that she entered into as a result of a traumatic divorce and chronic pain."I wasn't supposed to continue on," she said of her mindset at the time. "I learned a valuable lesson - never give up, never give in."Bieling was sentenced by Nanovic to 30 days in prison, 60 days of house arrest and roughly four years of probation in exchange for pleading guilty. She will receive credit for 26 days time served.Nanovic said he considered "'significant mitigating factors" in imposing a sentence at the low end of the state's guidelines.A Jim Thorpe man also pleaded guilty in two separate cases of driving under the influence. In one case he also pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment for attempting to drive his vehicle away from the scene of a crash.Andrew Lee Moll, 25, of Jim Thorpe, entered guilty pleas in both cases on Monday. On March 15, he was arrested by Jim Thorpe Police. On Nov. 12, he was arrested by state police at Lehighton after they saw him crash his vehicle into a retaining wall and continue driving it.For the first DUI, he was sentenced to 90 days in prison, ordered to pay a $1,500 fine, and forfeit his driver's license for 18 months.For the reckless endangerment, he was sentenced to six months in prison, a $3,000 fine, and agreed to forfeit his license for an additional 18 months.Other pleasAlso entering guilty pleas on Monday were:Nathan Allen Eckhart, 33, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Nov. 20, 2015, by Palmerton Police.He was placed on probation for one year.Danielle Elizabeth Jafaty, 20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested Aug. 29 by state police at Lehighton.She was placed on probation for one year.Ryan Allen Kokolus, 19, of Bethlehem, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Feb. 2 by park rangers at Beltzville State Park.He was placed on probation for one year.Larry Scott Nagy, 38, of Bethlehem, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested Sept. 23, 2015, by Franklin Township Police. A vehicle driven by Nagy struck three parked vehicles before coming to a rest against a house. He was found to have a 0.16 BAC.He was sentenced to a minimum 75 days imprisonment.Michael Keith Strohl, 39, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested Jan. 29 by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 in Franklin Township.Ronald Lee Strohl, 43, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested by Lehighton Police along First Street on July 16.Jesus Manuel Nadal-Suarez, 25, of Catasauqua, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested Sept. 15, 2015, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 in Franklin Township.He was sentenced to a minimum of 90 days imprisonment, however he received credit for 161 days time served.Nancy Ann Nagy-Rotondaro,52, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. She was arrested June 7 by Lehighton Police along Seventh Street.She was placed on probation for one year, and ordered to pay a $500 fine.Daniel Robert Russo,24, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested Sept. 4.Harold Al Munoz Sanchez, 29, of West Hazleton, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested June 14 by state police at Lehighton. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21.Richard Thomas Sliwinski, 43, formerly of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to possession one count of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Aug. 15 by the state Attorney General's office and county drug task force.Jarrad Joseph Marsh, 27, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Sept. 8 by Palmerton Police.He was placed on probation for one year.
