An elderly woman was injured this morning after her vehicle skid on a patch of ice along Troxell Road in Mahoning Township.

The crash occurred at 6:30 a.m. as she was traveling north about a half mile from Route 443.After her car hit with the ice, it swerved to the right, going off the road and hitting a tree.The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center.State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
