Principal applicants seeking two low-interest loans that will generate employment for Carbon County's business-industrial economy reviewed their plans yesterday at a mandatory meeting before the county commissioners.
Drs. John J. DeMatte of Lehighton and Louis Sportelli of Palmerton ecured a $150,000 loan to construct a medical facility at Route 248 and Union Hill in Franklin Township, and Bernard Newfield of Ben Salem will receive $112,500 to be used toward the purchase and renovation of the old Vulcan Chemical Co. in Lower Towamensing Township.The loans, approved by the county's Industrial Development Authority, will now be forwarded to the state for processing.
