Carbon County court - ARD

Thirteen first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program this week by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would stand trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year:

Daniel Donald Androckitis, 49, of Wilkes-Barre, was placed for a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on Jan. 29 along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.11 BAC.

He was assessed $650 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 30 days.

Amanda Marie Barletta, 25, of Drums, Luzerne County, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on May 26 along Chestnut Street in Banks Township by state police at Hazleton. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.

She was assessed $500 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Thomas William Boyden, 27, of Pocono Lake, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Feb. 12 by Kidder Township police along Route 903 in Albrightsville. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Angelina J. Filippini, 26, of Blakeslee, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on May 22 along Route 940 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.

Tracy Nunez, 20 of Corona, New York, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested on April 22 along I-80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Michael Anthony Nuzzo,24, of Saylorsburg was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Aug. 8, 2015, along Route 1003 in Lake Harmony by Kidder Township police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Steven Eric Petrushonis,22, of Cressona, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and two summary motor vehicle code violations. He was arrested on July 17 along Route 93 by Nesquehoning police.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Lisa Marie Reitano,52, of Stroudsburg, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on July 17 along Route 940 in Albrightsville by Kidder Township police. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.

She was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 30 days.

Mark David Renninger,51, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on June 20, 2015, along Route 443 by Mahoning Township police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Gregory Sabo,35, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 29 along West Patterson Street by Lansford police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Denise M. Turkavage,31, of Frackville, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on March 27 along Crest Drive in Lake Harmony by Kidder Township police. A test revealed a 0.20 BAC.

She was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Erick Ti Whaley,20, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of flee or attempting to elude police and summary motor vehicle code violations. He was arrested on April 25 at routes 93 and 209 by Nesquehoning police.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
