The 36th annual Walnutport Canal Festival kicked off this weekend with new vendors and fresh activities.

It's a major fundraiser for the canal association. Funds will be used for the maintenance of the canal system, buildings and surrounding grounds.The free admission event included music, food, history and handcrafting vendors spread through the three-street square.
