Carbon County court - guilty pleas

Nine defendants in pending criminal cases recently entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Jocelyn Helen Tiglio, 21, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property.She was arrested on May 12, 2011, by Weatherly police. There are two co-defendants in the case.She is currently an inmate in the county prison on a parole violation. She also admitted to a heroin addiction and has mental health issues. She is also facing criminal charges in Luzerne County.Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of the victim of $1,500, and have no contact with the victim.Dylan Brett Danko, 24, of Hazleton, pleaded to one count of unauthorized use of an automobile. He was charged by Weatherly police for an incident on Jan. 20. He used a vehiclewithout permission.He is currently in the Luzerne County prison serving a term of nine to 23 months on other criminal counts which runs to Oct. 4.Matika placed him on probation for two years and ordered he render 100 hours of community service, make restitution of $7,100 to Shields and have no contact with him.Charles Lewis Thatcher VII, 20, of Tamaqua, pleaded to one count of retail theft. He was arrested on May 28 by Lansford police at Boyer's Market along West Bertsch Street. He took $25 worth of meat products.He told Matika he entered an inpatient rehab facility for 28 days and is currently attending counseling sessions.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service, make restitution of $25 to Boyer's, stay out of the store, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Zachary R. Lienhard,26, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property.He was arrested on Oct. 25, 2015, by Nesquehoning police for in incident in which he took radiators and copper piping from a building in which he was renting an apartment.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he make restitution of $600 and render 50 hours of community service.Karen Lynn Rimsky, 32, of Coaldale, pleaded to a count of habitual offender. She was arrested on Feb. 6 by Lansford police along Patterson Street at a vehicle stop. She has various convictions for driving while under suspension.Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered she render 50 hours of community service.Julie A. Herman, 29, of East Stroudsburg, pleaded to one count each of criminal trespass and receiving stolen property. She was arrested on Oct. 11, 2015, by Lansford police for an incident on West Ridge Street. She was involved in the theft of a 50-inch television, laptop computer, train set and other household items.Sentencing was deferred due to a question about restitution and so she could apply for placement in the Intermediate Punishment program - house arrest.Brett Alan Keyes, 56, of Jim Thorpe pleaded to one count of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle/property. He was arrested on April 16 by Kidder Township police at the intersection of Interstate 80 and the turnpike after being involved in a crash and leaving the scene.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.Michele Ann Goodhile, 50, of Weissport, pleaded to one count of criminal mischief, as a summary offense. She was arrested on Feb. 23 by Lehighton police for an incident in which she sold a Honey-Can-Do Toy organizer belonging to another person.Matika imposed a fine of $100 and restitution of $10. She is currently an inmate in the county prison on a parole violation.Jeremy F. Lockwitch,28, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested by Lansford police on June 3 for taking the purse of a person who had given him a ride.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service when released from prison. He is currently an inmate in the county prison on pending charges.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of abut $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
