Mission meal

Every Thursday, the West End Mission has a free meal at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert. They are encouraged to wear their uniform. The registration deadline is Oct. 16. Due to the growth of the parade, registrations can no longer be taken on the day of the parade. The parade begins at St. Matthew's Church Grove. Check-in time is from 11 a.m. to noon. Judging begins promptly at 12:15 p.m. and the parade at 1 p.m.Unregistered participants are welcome to walk the day of the parade, but they must be at the grove for lineup no later than 12:30 p.m.Treats are guaranteed for preregistered applicants only.Registration forms, which include other details, are available at the Eldred Municipal Building or on the township website.There is no registration fee, however it would be appreciated if each participant would bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to the West End Food Pantry.Stomp Out HungerWest End Food Pantry in Kunkletown, in conjunction with Blue Ridge Estate Vineyard & Winery in Saylorsburg, is hosting a Stomp Out Hunger 5K and 2.5K event on Nov. 6, rain or shine.
