Carbon County court - ARD

Ten first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Michael Donald Celano,31, of Dunmore, Lackawanna County, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on Nov. 25, 2015, along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Kristin Doran,44, of Kunkletown, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on April 16 along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.26 BAC.She was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Angelo John Greco,22, of Sugarloaf, Luzerne County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 25, 2015, along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Deanna Marie Hoherchak, 46, of Summit Hill, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Jan. 10 by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Mahoning Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Richard James Kenna, 45, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 13 along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.He was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.Robert C. Ludwick Jr.,45, of Albrightsville, was placed for nine months on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 24 along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.He was assessed $500 and his license was suspended for 30 days.Kelly Lynn Moore,30, of Kunkletown, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Sept. 29, 2015, along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.She was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Braidon Nemeth,20, of Bath, was placed on a charge of receiving stolen property. He was arrested on March 8 by state police at Lehighton.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution of $134.86, which is his share as there are other defendants.Greg Pokrzywa,26, of Garfield, New Jersey, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on May 15 by rangers at Beltzville State Park in Towamensing Township.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment.Kelly Sue Shipwash,38, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Feb. 6 along Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.She was assessed $500, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 30 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow any recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
