LCCC club to host Photographer

Lehigh Carbon Community College's Photography Club will continue its "Fabulous Photographer" series this semester with Joe Edelman, an award-winning advertising and editorial photographer, author, educator and model mentor.

He will be presenting his "The Simple Approach to Portraits that Flatter" at 6

p.m.Sept. 8 in the Rothrock Library's Alumni Center, rooms 107/108, main campus in Schnecksville. The event is open to the public and free of charge.Each month the LCCC Photography Club will feature a photographer who can inspire through photos and great insight to help improve their photography skills.Edelman will show how he creates flattering portraits with simple lighting and posing techniques. He will cover everything about a camera. His talk will include a demonstration using a model and real-time video projected for the audience so that you can see these simple techniques through the camera lens.Edelman's career has spanned four decades, from his start as a newspaper photojournalist to his work today photographing all types of people for commercial clients and working as an educator and mentor to young, talented photographers. His work has been published in magazines like Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Get Fit and Shape.In addition to lecturing at workshops across the United States, Edelman is also an adjunct professor teaching about "The Art of Seeing" at Muhlenberg College.The LCCC Photography Club is a student-led organization dedicated to help and inspire members to grow in their photographic skills through workshops, lectures and hands-on experience.For more information, contact LCCC's Student Life office at 610-799-1146.
