Summit Hill police charge man with growing marijuana

A Summit Hill man was arrested after police discovered he had a marijuana growing operation in his home, which he shared with a 1-year-old.

On July 7, just before 11:30 a.m., Summit Hill police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Amidon Street to assist a state constable.While at the residence of Andrew Manno, 35, of East Amidon Street, police smelled marijuana and as they looked inside the home, saw several marijuana plants growing.Police said there were also items to grow the plants in the house.Manno was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.He was taken to Carbon County Correctional Facility and then arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek.Bail was set at $3,000 and was posted.A preliminary hearing was waived on July 20 and a formal arraignment is scheduled in the district attorney's office for Aug. 23.
