A Monroe County man was killed when struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Jeremy C. Owens, 26, of 1117 Knollwood Drive, Tobyhanna, was walking along Route 196 in Coolbaugh Township, about 8:43 p.m. when he was struck by a Jeep Liberty driven northbound by Brian D. Jackson, 26, of 1067 Knollwood Drive, Tobyhanna.Police said he died of the injuries he sustained.The road was closed for several hours, police added.Police ask anyone who has information concerning this incident to call police at 570-895-2400.
