Doe tags sold out for Carbon, Monroe and portions of Schuylkill

Doe tags in two wildlife management units that serve Carbon County, as well as Monroe and portions of Schuylkill are sold out.

On Thursday, Carbon County Treasurer Ronald Sheehan announced that the antlerless deer permits in WMU 3D sold out at 10 a.m. Wednesday as the county was processing that day's mail. WMU 4C sold out last month.Sheehan said the tags were exhausted during the bonus round, meaning that any treasurer in the county could sell a tag in any WMU.Sheehan said that although he has a few rejection letters to be sent out, hunters who included a second or third preference on the application, such as WMU 5C, received a doe tag."We had a lot of multiple 5C license requests, many coming from the Slatington/Walnutport areas as Lehigh County does not process doe applications," Sheehan said.Rejection letters will be sent out from now through Tuesday.Due to the large volume of applications processed, Sheehan said that his office cannot accommodate inquiries concerning the processing of applications. The state issues 748,000 licenses for doe season. As of Friday at 8 a.m., only 168,628 licenses in WMUs 1A, 2A, 2B, 3C, 4A, 5B, 5C and 5D remained.
