Three arrested for robbery, assault in Monroe

Three people have been arrested and more arrests are expected in a robbery and assault incident at Monroe County development.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to Carobeth Drive in A Pocono Place in Tobyhanna about 10:56 p.m. on July 28 where a 19-year-old Tobyhanna resident said he was assaulted and robbed at E-Park.The victim said he was baited to the park by a girl whom he thought he was going to meet there and hang out with. When he arrived at the park he was assaulted by a group of about 15 individuals, he said.While being assaulted the victim had a AR15 rifle stolen from the trunk of his vehicle. The gun was later recovered, police said.Video surveillance captured footage of the incident and police are continuing their investigation and anticipate more arrests.Arrested for their part in the incident were Diane Jennings, 23, Ahmed Jones, 19, and a 17-year-old male juvenile, all from Tobyhanna. Jennings was charged with robbery, simple assault, criminal use of a communication facility, riot and criminal conspiracy.Jones was charged with robbery, simple assault, theft, riot and criminal conspiracy. Both were arraigned before District Judge Anthony Fluegel, of Tobyhanna. Jennings' bail was set at $100,000 and Jones' at $50,000. Both were unable to post bail and were committed to the county prison in Snydersville.The juvenile was charged with robbery, riot, simple assault and criminal conspiracy. He was placed in a juvenile detention center.
